Jessy Girl’s 22nd Birthday

10 Jan

I have so many random photos from the last few months that I haven’t been uploading. Little sissy girl turned 22 and came down for her birthday last month. I was going through my camera and saw these and forgot how many silly pictures we took. There are like 50 from the restaurant, haha. I’m kind of craving a peach margarita now! Also, I love this girl so much. ❤

The cupcakes turned out pretty excellent. I used a boxed French Vanilla mix but tried this Pinterest tip to make it taste more like a homemade batter. I topped it with some caramel I made the night before in a crockpot, added a few whole pecans each, and sprinkled with sea-salt.  Yummmmm.

Costanoa Glamping in Pescadaro

6 Dec

A few weeks back Jericho and I took a quick trip out of town. We were both over-worked and getting burned out, so we knew some fresh air and a change of scenery was in order. “Glamping” is a thing now and we found a relatively cheap place just North of Santa Cruz called Costanoa. It’s not quite as secluded or luxurious as their site would have you think, but being in off-season, the price was right. We spent a 4-day weekend lazing around SF, Pescadaro, and Santa Cruz. Luckily we hit one of the last few weekends at Costanoa before they started getting real rainy winter weather.

If you’re looking at making a trip to Costanoa, I would go on off-season and pack a space heater for your tent. All the “camp” sites are pretty close together and as they are canvas tents you can hear your neighbors pretty well; if you go mid-week you will probably have a little more privacy. Saturday-Sunday they were flooded with a bunch of SF-ers with vans full of children left to run around unsupervised while the parents drank wine in packs around fire pits. Having a tent at the top of a hill–our spot was prime location for kids with bikes lining up to ride down to the bottom.

I can’t believe it’s already a week into December. I’ve only got a few of my DIY gifts finished but nothing in the mail yet. I feel like I’m so far behind!

Fun With Sissy Girl

20 Nov

My sister came up a few weekends ago. We had a good time taking goofy photos and hitting thrift stores. It’s a shame we didn’t leave with that set of fire-breathing kitten plates or a devil-eyed Lincoln bust. Spent some hours at the coffee shop playing gin rummy; she killed me. I love that girl! We also got started on our Christmas photos for this year, so I am beyond excited to finish editing and start getting cards in the mail. I feel like I’m already a month behind on my shopping and crafting and we haven’t even hit Thanksgiving. Geez!

The Password is Tallulah

30 Oct

We haven’t dressed up for Halloween for a couple years now, so when we heard about a Speakeasy event this weekend, i jumped at the chance to go out. The bar was glamming up for the night, putting cigars and cards on the patio, and having people enter through the back door with a password. We were slightly outside of our comfort zone going to something like this without really knowing anyone that would be there, but I’m glad that we went. The gin was cheap and we sat and watched a live jazz band that was amazing!

Cat-tastic Weekend

21 Oct

I spent most of my weekend napping with this guy. I wish every morning was this relaxing. He’s so freaking cute that I ended up taking so many photos of him. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say his transition to being an indoor kitty is going well. 😉

Summer 2013

6 Aug

This summer has been so busy. Here are some snapshots from our life. We didn’t get out of town too much this year, but we did go to a wedding in a small town outside of Santa Cruz and did some exploring there and in Ben Lomond. Such a cute town! If you’re ever in the area you should definitely stay at this awesome place on AirBnB, our host[ess] was so sweet!

Favorite Photos of 2012

11 Jan

I wanted to put up some of my favorite photos from 2012. This year I want to do more with photography, and I think going through old photos is good motivation to get going. I have some special photo projects coming up soon, a Shutterfly Groupon to use, and a fancy film camera begging for some action. 🙂 Click any photo to enlarge!
